Lights on the Lake

Every penultimate Saturday in July, Lake Bled transforms into a breathtaking spectacle as thousands of handcrafted candles in eggshells float across the water's surface. Originating in 1972, this cherished tradition is overseen by master craftsman Andrej Vidic and executed by approximately 40 local volunteers who carefully distribute the candles on the lake. The event is accompanied by an extended fair of local crafts and artisan products in Spa Park. The tradition has become the highlight of Bled's summer season, drawing visitors from near and far.
